Your expert for battery technologies and energy storage solutions.
Colorful, powerful and at a competitive price. With VARTA element, VARTA Storage aims to further strengthen its position in the storage market. The storage system for beginners completes the portfolio of the bavarian company. At the Intersolar Europe, VARTA Storage will exhibit together with the recently added business division Power Pack Solutions (PPS) for the first time.
Nördlingen/Munich, June 3rd 2015. Green, red, blue, white, yellow or grey - this is the decision home-owners can now make when talking about electricity storage systems in the basement. VARTA Storage presented its new home storage system VARTA element for the first time today (10th June). The complete system features an integrated inverter as well as battery and energy management and is available in two variations: “VARTA element 3” offers a nominal battery capacity of 3.2 kWh and a system power of 1.600 W, the model “VARTA element 6” 6.4 kWh and 2.000 W. “Our new product line offers premium quality at a competitive price for beginners”, says Herbert Schein, CEO of VARTA Micro Group. The storage system is easy to install, it can be configured and controlled from a laptop and the consumption data is available on an online portal. VARTA Storage issues a ten-year warranty on the battery cells.
Improvements for VARTA home and VARTA family
VARTA element 3 and 6 complement the home storage-product line consisting of the modular Lithium-Ion-systems „VARTA home“ (up to 6.9 kWh) and “VARTA family“ (up to 13.8 kWh). “We have further improved them for the Intersolar Europe”, adds Herbert Schein. “This is how we managed to expand the system design to 14.000 cycles. Software, portal, webserver and interface with VARTACONNECT have been enhanced and all devices are now compatible with smart grids.
VARTA Storage will exhibit at the Intersolar Europe for the first time with the entire storage portfolio of the VARTA Group. Beside the home storage system the company also offers commercial-size systems of 25 kWh up to the Megawatt-scale. Research together with 14 institutes, including the University of Munich and other partners in the project EEBatt is underway for innovative, decentralized, stationary battery storage systems.
Since January 2015, the VARTA Micro Group division of Power Pack Solutions (PPS) has become part of VARTA Storage GmbH. The business division PPS develops and produces mostly customized lithium battery packs for applications in the industrial sector, medical engineering, telecommunications, robotics and data processing. Secure, highly specialized and powerful solutions are required for packs used in e-bikes or mobile medical engineering. “Now, we have united the entire storage portfolio of the group and our engineering expertise within VARTA Storage GmbH” adds Herbert Schein. The new business divisions are presented in detail on the redesigned homepage www.varta-storage.com.
