|Grid charging will be possible from March 2019 with the VARTA pulse energy storage systemNot only charging your energy storage system when the sun shines, but also when the electricity from the grid is particularly attractive: This will be possible from March 2019 in the UK and Australia with a new function – grid charging – of VARTA’s energy storage system pulse. Store cheap electricity, for example from an off-peak tariff and then consume it in the house, when mains electricity is particularly expensive – in that way the self-consumption rate can be increased which lowers the electricity bill.|
Thanks to an automatic software update coming in March 2019, storage owners can set their VARTA pulse to automatically receive and store electricity from the grid at fixed times and up to a certain charge point in certain months.
“There are often cheap off-peak electricity rates at night, and it can be very lucrative to fully charge your storage. The grid charging function eliminates the need for a dedicated PV system to operate a storage facility,” says Gordon Clements, General Manager of VARTA Storage GmbH, “But this function is also worthwhile for small PV systems or when there is a high energy demand in the house.”
Grid charging is possible with all VARTA pulse energy storage units. The energy storage is perfect for anyone who wants to bundle high energy density in a flat or a house to save space. It is available in two performance classes – 3.3 kWh and 6.5 kWh – and impresses with its safety and reliability. It can also be easily attached to the wall, leaving enough space for everything else in the house. In just 30 minutes, the wall-mounted energy storage system is installed thanks to plug-and-play and can be combined with all sources of green energy.
